ART EVENTS IN TORRIDON COMMUNITY CENTRE

Lochcarron artists Aileen Grant and Cindie Reiter have collaborated with Attadale Gardens to produce a programme of art exhibitions and workshops in 2020.

Space will be limited to 12 people for each event. The individual fee will be £60 all inclusive. Materials will be provided but you may also bring your own if you wish.
Workshops will run from 10.30am to 4.30 pm – The October workshop may start/finish earlier to make the most of daylight hours.

In A Coastal Place

1. Wednesday 6th May – In A Coastal Place – mixed media workshop

Aileen and Cindie will be leading this workshop. You can linger on or near the shores of Upper Loch Torridon, observe the changing tide and watch the wildlife. The aim is for us to gather sketches and seashore items that speak of this place and its character. In the afternoon you may choose to continue with outdoor sketching. Or you may decide to work on your sketches indoors, incorporating various compositional devices to create artwork that captures your unique experience of this place.

The In A Coastal Place event will include the materials needed for the workshop and will include lunch and coffee

Please note that we aim to spend time out and about in Torridon, so please wear comfortable shoes and bring a waterproof jacket. More information about the course, materials etc will be sent out before the course takes place.

Autumnal

2. Saturday 3rd October – Autumnal – mixed media workshop
   

Aileen and Cindie will lead this workshop and have chosen October as a colourful time in Torridon. We will head along some hill paths to open up interesting views around and over the hills. You will be encouraged to think about the different elements within the landscape – near and far – and how you might render these in colour and through mark-making. We will use a variety of materials and techniques, including some simple printmaking.

The Autumnal event will include the materials needed for the workshop and will include lunch and coffee
